JEE Main: Ensuring future

believe- in-yourself
believe- in-yourself   JEE Main reaching its culmination, it is time for the aspirants to wait for the result. Soon the result will be out and there will be many who would rejoice and simultaneously some will silently either turn their ways or start preparing for the next time. Those who took the exam know what result they are going to get. But ultimately, result is result and until it is declared, nothing can be stated with certainty. There are many who are confident that they will top the merit list. There are also some candidates who know that they will not be able to get their names in the merit list. Others are in confusion whether the result will be positive or negative. Those who are confident, they are now preparing to tread the further road in life. They are busy arranging funds and making preparations to relocate to some new and quaint places. Those who are confident of their failure must start working to mend the ways of their life. They must learn from their errors and resolve not to commit the same mistakes again. Were the questions of JEE Main quite tough? Was it easier than the previous year examinations or more difficult with the increased level of complexities? The opinions vary from person to person. High level entrance-examinations like JEE are always tough and it is the only way that the talent can be identified. Why do you think for some it was difficult? Well, the answer is that they were either less smart or lacked proper preparation. In such examinations, being intelligent alone does not suffice. Often the average candidates score well and the so called intelligent ones lag behind. Tough exams always call for rigorous practice and preparation. So those who consistently work hard, get success and those considering themselves extraordinarily over-smart, regret a lot in their life. There are also some candidates who fail even after working hard to the extent of using all their energy and strength. Why do you think it happens? Isn’t the Divinity with them? You should understand that hard work may be the key to success, but hard work alone is not always sufficient to guarantee success. Hard work is mandatory for success, but this should be guided in the right direction. You may work hard, but the things you exert your efforts on may not be the appropriate ones. You need to press the accelerator and not the brake if you wish to increase the speed of your car. So, you should work hard, but it should also be a smart work. Right thing must be done in the right time and in a right manner. The result of JEE Main will open the door to bright future for many and meanwhile it will also cause tears in many hearts. The result will also compel many to learn a tough lesson to survive and progress in life. Those aspiring to appear in JEE 2014 must not procrastinate to move towards practice and preparation. The mistakes may be made by some, but everyone has the opportunity to learn from them. The pillars of distance education in India

distance-education-cloudThe bright future of distance education in India seems to be bright and getting even better. With more professionals and students opting for distance mode to pursue the postgraduate degree on account of saving time and money, it helps to know about the best distance education centers of the country.

Ever since its introduction in the country , the e-learning has spawned an endless number of debates and discussions questioning its utility. Every aspirant who decides to take up distance education is faced with questions like does the degree holds relevance for employers or do other universities recognize a degree earned through distance learning. The truth is that the distances education is a specialized mode of learning, meant for those who owing to some reason, or other couldn’t climb the rope of regular classroom education. It does have less recognition than the regular form, but considering the advantages it offers, distance learning is more than just a compensation for its shortcomings.

Moreover, it is nothing but unfair to compare distance education on the same platform as all regular courses. Both have their own sets of benefits and limitations. While in traditional schools, you can interact with your tutor in person, and collaborate with your classmates in various community activities. Distance education offers you the ability to learn at your pace, place and comfort without spending huge sums of money. The concept of distance learning sometimes referred to correspondence learning which was introduced for students, who due to some concerns were not able to attend regular classes. Instead of leaving such candidates devoid of any opportunity to pursue higher education, distance education serves them by providing them with an option to pursuing higher education either from the comfort of their homes (online mode) or at weekends without having to leave their jobs.

Without digging the dirt of which option is better of the two, as it means starting a never ending debate, it would be fair to discuss the top education institutes that offer courses in open mode. It is a matter of great relief and pride that India has a lot of good distance education options, as it is a direct reflection of the evolution of our education system since the pre-independence era. The institutes discussed have been unanimously accepted as the best by experts. All of the above educational institutes are known for their excellence and expertise in delivering top quality education through distance mode. All of these colleges have created new benchmarks of success with their class leading teaching methodology and excellent facilities. Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi: Undoubtedly the most dominant authority in the field of distance education, the “People’s University” was established in 1985 by an act of parliament called IGNOU Act 1985. INR 20 Billion were poured into the making of this huge academic institution, and what resulted was the largest university in the world in terms of student intake, with a mind-boggling 3,500,000 students enrolling themselves for different courses. Apart from fulfilling its objective of providing education through distance and open mode, the university is especially dedicated towards the betterment of the underprivileged section of society, in its overall mission of strengthening the human resource of India through education. The university defines the standard of distance education in India and plays host to Secretariats of the SAARC Consortium on Open and Distance Learning. Serving approximately 3.5 million students globally, IGNOU has centers in 40 countries including most of the gulf countries like Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and others. The university functions through its 21 schools and a network of 59 regional centers, 2600 study centers, and 52 centers on foreign shores. Another statistic that would give a perspective of the institute’s importance is that nearly 20% of students who enroll for higher education in India do it through IGNOU. Amity School of Distance Learning, Amity University: ASoDL is a product of the foresightedness of its founders who predicted that the next generation of learning belonged to distance mode of education. The distance learning programs of ASODL are specifically designed for those who aspire to soar high in their professional lives but are blocked by a lack of time to join a regular classroom course. Whether it is the world-class education in management or short-term courses in niche subjects like Cyber Security, Amity’s range of courses is simply unmatched. The study material has been designed keeping in mind the strict time constraints that a professional worker experiences. It is self-explanatory and interactive in nature, requiring only a part of one’s leisure or weekend time to effectively learn the topic. The Amity School of Distance Learning enjoys the confidence of thousands of students and industry leaders owing to its excellent quality of course material, delivery methodology, student support service, and faculty. The institute has been ranked as number one in distance mode and offers a diverse array of courses right from Masters degree in Business Administration, Masters of Science, to one year PG Diploma Program in Materials Management, Financial Management, to Executive Program and Certificate Course in Carbon Finance. The fees of courses are one of the lowest and taking admission also requires no special entrance test or eligibility conditions. Sikkim Manipal University, Distance Education: A result of collaboration between Government of Sikkim and Manipal Education, this unique government-private initiative has been instrumental in providing high-quality education to students in this region. Established in 1995, the distance education school of SMU is approved by UGC and recognized by DEC (Distance Education Council). Is Japanese the hardest language to learn?

Is Japanese the hardest language to learn? Unfortunately, there’s no easy and definite answer to the question “Which is the most difficult language to learn” due to the huge amount of variables that the question raises, however for traditional, native English speakers, we do have a suggestion. First, we will discuss some of the considerations that have led to this conclusion.

Country of origin

It is important to note that in some countries, learning a language is a fairly natural process. For those minority countries that don’t have either a power language or a widely spoken language as their native tongue it’s an essential process they need to go through in order to succeed and be able to travel internationally, something English speakers tend to take for granted when they go abroad. Therefore there are children for whom it is natural to be bilingual or even trilingual due to that being common in their society or country. To give an example those living in Sweden, Norway or other European countries learn their native tongue just as we do, but for them, in addition to speaking Swedish or Norwegian fluently, they will also be fluent English speakers as this is a traditional part of growing up and part of the norm. In fact, this also occurs in Korea, India, and even China – we are quite unique in the United Kingdom where this is not the case.

When you are younger you have far more of an affinity to learn a second or third language – when you are an adult it becomes much harder. Therefore Europeans that are used to learning languages are likely to find it far easier to pick them up than an English person would.

Natural talent

Let’s do not forget natural talent. Some people – myself not included – naturally pick up and remember new verbs, nouns, and sentence construction patterns. All of these points will impact how easy one finds it to become bilingual.

Arguably the most important factor is enthusiasm. You can have a terrific ability to pick up languages, speak, interpret and translate them however if you don’t enjoy learning your chosen language, chances are you won’t go the whole distance. For home study especially, a lot of self-motivation is required – if you don’t enjoy what you’re learning, chances are you’re not going to learn it!

Language distance

This concept is fascinating and it brings together how closely one language is linked to another. To give an example, Dutch as a language is fairly close to English in terms of its words, patterns and expressions whilst Vietnamese and Somalian have a huge distance from English. The tools used to formulate these results are called cognates, measurements that look at language similarities to determine how close one language is to another and how easy it will be to learn.

The Answer!

So, language distance is a big factor as is personal ability, intrinsic motivation and enthusiasm, upbringing, culture, country of origin and even age. However, if you do speak English, if you are an adult and if you haven’t learned a second language apart from those obligatory lessons at school the hardest language for you to learn is…Japanese. There is an interesting infographic online here about learning Japanese and with its four scripts and totally different alphabet it’s easy to see why this gets the title – however, it’s extremely common for Japanese people to speak English, so it can be done! About the Author: Emma is fairly good at Spanish and can just about get by on her annual trip to Mallorca! For the more complex language services she requires, she recommends using the professional translators at LanguageNow.
