Educational transformations in classrooms

Technology has had a huge impact on almost every aspect of our lives and can help us in many ways. The way we communicate with loved ones, find out the latest news and current affairs and most importantly, the way we educate in the classroom. Your child might be a budding Little Harvard, Yale or Oxford student, so it is important that they grow up in the right educational surrounding and environment. The incredible, transformative effects of technology have led to personalised learning experiences for students in the classroom. Technology allows tailored learning to suit individual student’s needs. A recent US survey found out that 74% of teachers use devices like tablets in their lessons, and 69% agreed that it enhances the lesson allowing them to teach in a far more effective manner.

Apps

Teachers who have access to mobile devices have a step ahead when it comes to their teaching abilities. Apps for Android and iOS can play a significant role in the classroom and there are a plethora of educational apps available in respective App stores that are perfect for classroom learning. Some of the best apps that teachers can use in the classroom include 3D Brain for science lessons,  Art for history lessons and Mathboard for teaching mathematics to name just a few.

Interactive Whiteboards

Interactive whiteboards are now used in classrooms all over the country and proven not only popular but successful too. In order to make the most of their potential, teachers need to know how to use them to their greatest effect. The integration of technology to the classroom is an exciting development for pupils and teachers alike, as it challenges and questions many assumptions on the role of technology in the classroom. Interactive whiteboards encourage active learning and a range of different teaching styles. They have a significant ability to enhance demonstration, improved teacher/ child reaction, limit the necessity of making resources and increase the pace of learning.

Social Media

Even outside of the classroom technology can play a huge role in education. Social networks have played a significant part in this development and there is huge excitement and interest about these changes. Social media allows students to not only take information in but share information that they learn at school that might be of particular interest with their virtual world. Social media allows teachers and educators to make connections with people in the educational field. If a teacher finds a book or resource that they particularly like they will more than likely be able to contact them via social media, whether it is a blog, LinkedIn or Twitter, it can open a whole relationship and the opportunity to expand ideas. Social media is an extremely powerful search engine, it can be used my students and teachers alike to find up to date resources like articles, events and video that can assist learning.

Schools, universities, educators and students are all responding positively and intuitively to these technological developments in the education system. We will continue to see a growth in this integration and notice how students reap the rewards.
