What is CLEP?

The abbreviation of College Level Examination Program or CLEP is a program of exams offered by the College Board, a not-for-profit Examination Board in the United States, formed back in the nineteenth century. The College Board manages standardized tests, such as the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, CLEP, ACCUPLACER, and the subject-specific SAT Subject Tests and Advanced Placement tests.

CLEP offers the opportunities to the students of any age to demonstrate the college-level achievements in a series of tests. There are approximately 2,900 colleges and universities that grant college credits and/or advanced standing for CLEP tests or exams. A credit is a unit that gives weighting to the value, level or time requirements of an academic course.

CLEP tests facilitate the US students in high schools or universities to earn credits for the successful completion of each course, for each academic term. The state or the institution sets a minimum number of credits required to graduate.

You have to be aware that there are various patterns of credits, which include one per course, one per hour/week in class, one per hour/week devoted to the course (including homework), etc.

Marriage becoming a difficult business!

The world has never owned such opulence of womanly character, a splendor of womanly manners or multitudinous instances of wifely, motherly, daughterly, sisterly devotion, as it owns today.

There are no words to express my admiration for good womanhood. Woman is not only man’s equal, but the affectionate and religious nature, which is the best part of us.

As you may see, nowadays it is easier for a man to find an appropriate wife, than for a woman to find a good husband!

According to a New York Times analysis of census results, in 2005, there were 51 percent of women who stated that they are living without a spouse, whereas in 2000 this figure was 49 percent in 1950 and 35 percent in 1950.

There are multitudes of women, who have never been married and still greater multitude of them, who got married but change back to be single. Marriage has become a difficult burdening business, especially for women.

Connection between video games and violent behavior in teens

Majority of U.S. adults admit to understanding little or nothing at all, about video game rating system. Many of them would never let their eight year old see an R-rated movie, but according to the findings from a January 2013 Harris Poll of 2,278 U.S. adults (above 18+) interviewed online, some children may be playing video games beyond their maturity level.

Only one-third of Americans (32%) say they understand everything or a lot about video game ratings and nearly two in five (38%) indicated they know nothing about the system, the majority (66%) of those U.S. adults with video game playing  children in their households, indicate using a video game’s rating to determine whether they allow their child to play it. Which academy is the right academy?

How many students do you know who have a clear idea about what their future holds?- In my experience, very few.

With this in mind, selecting a college or university is, certainly an important decision and there are many factors to take into consideration.

Such a choice has to be fully thought-through. Choosing which University, and of course the right program can become, for many people, a great source of anxiety. For some it can take days to evaluate a list of the pros and cons, but for others, the choice becomes a kind of lottery. Frequently, the choice is deduced from randomness over reason, and it all ends with signing up for a faculty without any kind of pondering at all.
