Trainers and assessors need to be trained themselves before going on to assess others. In Australia, all trainers hence must undergo a program called TAE40110 –certificate IV in Training and Assessment. There are ten parts to this program, seven of which are compulsory. The trainer (who incidentally becomes the student) learns how to plan assessment activities and guidelines, how to plan and organise group learning and how to plan and deliver learning in the work place.

Audio books are becoming more and more popular, as people have less time to sit down and read a book. Taking advantage of iPods and MP3 players to listen to the latest bestseller as they rush through their daily lives is more common practice.

In the direction of using more of the latest technology gadgets is the developing of the audio books industry. Its emerging trend is following the latest technologies and it is adapting accordingly, offering more and more titles from all genres and for all audiences.

Audio books can work very well alongside printed books for kids that have grasped the basics of reading, but need to develop vocabulary further. They can sit down with the printed book and follow the text as they listen to it, being read on a CD or MP3 download.
