While tablets seem to be the trendier choice of computing devices among students today, laptops are still highly sought after.
According to an IDC report, about 200.9 million units of portable PCs were sold in 2012, and the figure is expected to rise to 209.5 million in 2017.
Laptops continue to be popular because they are more suitable for certain computing tasks than tablets, such as composing documents and storing large quantities of data. College students who wish to purchase a new laptop can use the following tips to get the best deal possible.

Your life in a suitcase: What to pack to study abroad?

So you’re studying abroad. It could be for a semester, a year, or maybe you splashed out to take your whole course abroad. Either way, it’s worth knowing what you need to bring.

Studying abroad is a great opportunity. There’s something romantic about getting to live out of a suitcase for a while, it’s the closest most of us will get to experiencing the Beat Generation lifestyle, of drifting into new and unfamiliar places with little more than the clothes on your back. The flipside to this is that you need to spend more time picking what you’re going to bring than the average student. Not only can you not pop back across borders and oceans for anything you’ve just realized you forgot, but you’ve got baggage limits to contend with – one suitcase and one carry-on.
