UGC NET: First step to teach

UGC, which is known as University Grants Commission, was established by the Government of India for different courses in the field of education, to create different facilities and policies of education.

In order to provide a continuous flows of professionals, in various fields of education, it enables taking different exams for different courses. Considering the activity of research in different fields, it has set special arrangements for this test, all in the direction of helping to find out the talented research fellows from across the world. It is one of the most popular tests in the field of education.

The junior fellowship program, a basic qualification for conducting any kind of research in a university, is introduced by the UGC for the first time. The test is at the UGC NET or the National Eligibility Test, which is the first step for the aspiring teachers to get their professional qualifications gained. The guidelines of this test are set by the central government. It is good to know that this test is necessary to pass by the lectureship and that it is supervised by the National Eligibility Test Bureau.

In addition to better understanding the  NET it is worth mentioning that there are 84 test centers for this test, that are located all over India, accessible for the convenience and ease of the candidates. The test is connected in 94 subjects in various languages, it is held two times a year, (once in the month of June and once in December) and  the notifications for this test are made public in the month of March and September, so that the candidates can know and register themselves in time. Once the exam is conducted, the result is announced in the month of April for the December exam and in December for the June exam.

What is also important? – A person sitting for this test can take any of these subjects as his specialization, selected as per the interest and the requirement of the candidate.

The UGC net examination date has been announced for the December Exam this year.  The date for the June exam will be declared in March 2014, and candidates will be allowed to register for that paper. In order to get registered, the candidates need to be eligible for the exam and  the eligibility criteria for the test are announced on the official site of UGC.
